TOTALLy understandable...

Liza's going to be a big sister- her dad and step mom are having a baby and i'm thrilled for them and for our big wacky family -- someone asked me if I felt threatened and I said you know...oddly enough I don't -- b/c I know so surely that Liza is my girl and we're so bonded it's amazing....and in some ways I think the new baby will strengthen her ties to both her dad and me in different ways.... I don't know if that makes any sense

I know what you mean...and you'll have to keep me posted on how Liza does with it. Is she excited about being a big sis?

>> And I also feel a little distant from the fetus I'm baking right now, because I'm afraid it will mess up what DD and I have. I'm sure that will change in time, though. :-) <<

I have had similar feelings about my little bun, too.

Mine was called "the parasite" until she was born. It worked out.

You ladies have made me feel so much better already. DF and I call it "Meatball" because we're Swedish...you know...Swedish Meatballs? Yeah. Then he made the mistake of introducing me to some cartoon with a character named Meatwad and I started calling it that. Haha...ooops.

That's very rude to ask! Obviously, she wanted a child. Who cares if she called it a parasite. Medically speaking, a fetus is in a parasitic relationship and thus what she called it was simply a statement of fact.
