I used to start H.S. at 7:30. Some of the elementary schools in my district don't start until 9:30. That is too late too as they don't get home until close to 4pm.

The public elementary schools here go from 8:50 until 3:30. The last buses at the elementary school down the street from me don't end up leaving the parking lot until 3:50 or so. I think that's too long a day for the younger ones for sure.

My dd has late buses at elementary school and she can be there up to an hour later than usual. She also can be there an hour earlier for early morning activities or help.
