Is this debate now moot?

The lack of on topic debate has made me wonder if times have changed. When I first came on iVillage and this board a long time ago (10 years or so. My dd is now 11 and she was a newborn if I remember correctly), this board was hopping. In the late 90's and early 0's, in the days of venture capital, investment banking, flipping real estate, ecommerce, when cash and jobs were plentiful, was the Sah argument more relevant? Now, with a recession and high unemployment are the Sah advocates deafeningly quiet?

There just seems to be a lot fewer of the "How can you leave your precious babies with strangers?" type posts even before the great upgrade debacle. Or maybe village just isn't as popular as it was.

I used the outline because I'm often away for more than a day and there is no way I could catch up with the mega threads. In outline I could t least see which OT I wanted to follow.

No - was it better? This seems pretty readable and the discussions themselves are interesting...esp compared to a lot of others.

Yes, you could follow long threads much easier. The search was easier and it was much faster loading. I can't really think of improvements....
