DH did offer to make me breakfast but I told him that since I am up and out of the house before anyone else gets up on Sunday, that was not very practical so he'll be making me lunch after church.

Later this afternoon we will be going to see Texas: The Big Picture at the Imax theater at the Texas State History Museum. Was going to see a ball game today but the time conflicts with the time that DD2 bought the movie tickets for.

Aside from usually cooking the evening meal, most every Sunday is pretty much all mine.

I'm getting an experience I haven't had in so long, I don't remember when it happened last.

I got to spend the weekend alone. It has been heavenly.

It didn't happen for good reasons...my son had a baseball tournament at the beach this weekend. I have been sick for weeks now and I realized Thursday that there was no way I'd feel well enough the next day to take him. My sister piped up and volunteered to take him so that he could be in the tournament and I could get some much-needed rest.

So here I am, all by my lonesome, eating my Mother's Day breakfast of a bagel, fresh pineapple and coffee, in the peace and quiet.

Of course, deranged woman that I am, I realized a few minutes ago that I was here by myself watching the Wiggles.LOL

THey'll be home late this afternoon, and I imagine we'll go to dinner or something. THis weekend was a wonderful gift though...I was probably headed toward the hospital if I'd kept up at the pace I was going, taking care of Joel while barely able to function myself. Having a break has made all the difference in the world.

I'm working all day...and it is going to be a LONG week of work without a day off for a couple of weeks, I am thinking. See, the tornado that went through just missed the mall I work in (as well as my house) by about a half-mile. BUT...it hit the house of one of the ladies I work with. And another of the ladies has been pretty sick (she is in her 70s anyway), and anothers dad was just diagnosed with cancer and had surgery and is undergoing treatments. So....that leaves me to do most of the work (lady who is sick and lady whose dad is sick can be there some), and I am running the store now. UGH!! lol

So...I woke up this AM to 3 sweet little girls cards and them screaming "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!), and am catching up on e-mail and chatted with the girls mom this AM. Then I am taking daughter and girlfriends two healthy kids to work with me (all girls, ages 6, 7 and 10). They are going to sit in my back room, and do crafts and take some barbies to play with. At lunch they can run two stores down to Taco Mayo to get us some lunch, and we will eat together. DH is staying home with son and the 2 sick girls. When I get home, DH should have dinner ready, and we will all eat, then start baths and all the bedtime routine that 6 kids require.

Not sure how this week is going to look, as I don't know if any of the kids will have school, with the tornado damage and all, so DH and I will be juggling kids while I work, and he has dr appts, etc this week. lol....happy mother day to meeeeeee!!! giggle

I am having a great MD. DH got up with the kids, so I slept till 8:30. They served me homemade blueberry muffins and coffee in bed. The absolute best part of it is that yesterday, DH took our 3yo to a crafts store, where DS painted a flowerpot for me. Then they went to the florist and bought a miniature rosebush for it. It was just the absolute best gift.

In the past, DH has always given me pretty expensive gifts (I have an earring collection that represents a far greater SES than ours, for example), but hasn't really made much of an occasion of anything. I'd get sapphire earrings for my birthday, but there would be no cake or singing or anything. So I think he's finally begun to realize that I really mean it when I say I just want a little occasion made of the day, for the kids, especially. I was very pleased with the way things went this morning. Now the baby is napping, DS1 and DH are at the dump, and I'm chilling out before getting us all ready to go to a friend's christening party.

Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear it. I just heard the good news and popped back over, just in case you were still checking in.

The kids and dh made me a smoothie for breakfast in bed this morning. Dd bought me a new cheer mom shirt since my old one was a size xxl and my new one is a small. Cheerleading season is getting ready to start and she thought I needed one that fit. Ds brought me freshed picked flowers. Plus lots of hand made goodies.

We were suppose to go out to dinner but dh is on call and may be working all day. Ds is running a fever of 102.5, so dinner is off until everything is normal here again. Dd has been a complete angel today helping me around the house and with her brother.

I have washed 6 loads of laundry and mopped the whole house already.

My twelve year old brought me Sugar Smacks in bed this morning. I snuggled on the couch with my kids while we watched one of my favorite shows, Trading Spaces.

Since I'm on my own (dh is in Kuwait, on his way north), my Mother's Day gift to myself is getting caught up around the house. Between the kids and work and school (with all the insanity that is the end of a semester) and all the house/yard work is on me. . .I'd gotten kinda behind with anything other than tidying up.

I've moved ds from the room he shared with dd2 into the room dd1 occupied. We got all the big stuff moved from dd1's old room into 'the girls' new room, now we just have to do some sorting and organizing of dd1's things.. .she's kinda a pack rat.

I still have to mow the lawn after my lunch break and am going to hit laundry hard tonight while I watch Survivor with the kiddos, but I'll go to sleep tonight knowing that I've worked hard this weekend and won't have to do that much again for a while :).

I took my mom on the Homebuilder's Showcase tour. Well, half of it - there are ten houses, and we went to the five that were within walking distance.

I got to watch 1 1/2 episodes of "Beverly Hills, 90210" this morning before ds woke up, and he actually played quietly so I could watch most of the last half of the second episode before he REALLY wanted to watch (M)ELMO. DD watched him for me so I could make pancakes. I got a rainchime I've been wanting for a LONG time (think "years") and ds painted me a flowerpot at daycare (I used to have two dd made when she went there, but they were broken in a tragic accident a couple of years ago). DD made me a card (my favorite color, green).

This evening we're going to my sister's for a family cookout with my parents and one of my cousins.
