No, she did not say that at all. She simply said that when kids are abused, they are usually abused at home, by a family member. I am pretty sure this is a simple fact. IOW, a family member is more likely to mistreat a child than is a DCP or teacher. It has nothing to do with work status, both SAH and WOH parents abuse.
Than why even mention it in her post about the difference between sah and dcp? Also, I was talking about stating that frustration has anything to do with child abuse. We all have gotten frustrated as parents. However, I think it is safe to say, that the majority of us do not abuse our kids b/c we are frustrated with them.
She was speaking lightly, but all the same she is probably right, judging from a superficial google search, that frustration is a prime cause of child abuse. It has been a while, but I do remember seeing statistics indicating that more kids are abused in their own homes, by parents, step-parents and other family members, than in othercare situations.
I think she was simply contrasting parentcare with othercare, in terms of frustration felt. The parent in question could be a SAHP or a WOHP.
now see its the ZIN that gives ME a headache! LOL.
Kelly and I went to the best wine tasting at women's week in Provincetown (for which I missed two soccer games I'm sure scarring Liza for life-- pah. she barely noticed) and I WISH I had kept the wine sheet b/c there was one italian wine that took its name from "Pinnochio" (even had pinnochio on the label) that was To. die. for. i would like cases of it delivered to me monthly LOL

No, most of us do not abuse our kids. However, those who do mostly do so out of frustration, apparently, and most abuse does happen at home, as far as I know. Even WOH parents ARE home with their kids sometimes, so this is not confined to SAHPs. I am not sure what you are upset about here.
One of the great joys of my life was my son turning 18, so I never had to go to the bowling alley and watch him bowl again. I adore my son and I watched him bowl every Saturday morning, September through April, from the time he was 6 until he turned 18. I even coached for nearly 8 years--I was the "correct mental state" coach--the other coaches helped the kids with technique. My specialty was helping them relax and focus. Then he turned 18 and I celebrated my independence. Openly.
I'll still watch him bowl the occasional tournament, but he knows I go for love of him and not love of bowling.
