This theme was touched upon in another thread and I wanted to discuss it further.

Some of our neighbors got a visit when DH got his clearance a couple of years ago. I assume about all they had to tell was we are about the most boring people in the world.

I apparently am blind to it. A few years ago when coming home from work I noticed the police at a neighbors house. When I mentioned it to my DDs 2 out of the 3 of them replied "Oh, you mean the drug house?".

No, just saying that illegal things happen in every town no matter how nice of a town it is.

I did actually have a neighbor ask me some relatively personal questions.

If there is illegal activity going on in the home or people living there that should not be, I WILL call the authorities whether it be the police or the place that is in charge of the home.

Well, of course, unless you personally profit by it, such as the sale of counterfeit designer goods.

A private company is one that's privately owned usually by one or a few people. Its owners don't have to reveal much about their business, and most of us investors can't invest in it.

A public company is the opposite.

You might want to take a remedial civics class, as that is not the definition of a public company. A public company is owned by local, state or federal government. You have confused a 'public company' with "a publlicly traded company" (in which members of the public are free to purchase shares/ownership of the company). There is a huge difference and not all publicly traded companies publish their wage scales in the paper.

I am quite astounded to read such complete mis-information from someone claiming to be a harvard grad. Amused as hell, but nevertheless, astounded.

Because some people don't write fiction very well. Or quickly.
