About the time DD1 was born another couple on the base had a baby.
they both had the same first name. The announcement in the paper read "Sgt Tracey and Sgt Tracie Last Name had a baby boy....."

DD3 has a name that is also a boys name so it could happen to her.

You can shorten it to Harry.

that's why i said i agree with her instead of calling her right....you're right, you could shorten it to harry but i would guess and in my opinion, a name like daniel is more likely to be shorted to danny than harrison shortened to harry..and in either case, i would certainly hope one gets permission from the parent or kid before just calling the kid that.

One of my children's names starts with a "D". I have learned that the littler kids at school call him "Big D."
