Yeah, basically same thing.
I don't think spreading out the cost per use/wearing of a piece of clothing, bag, whatever really, is the same as depreciation. It could be that a piece of vintage clothing, or a vintage bag, would actually appreciate over the years.
You cannot also gauge its true cost my simply dividing the cost by the number of years you have owned the items. For instance, if I pay a hundred dollars for a pair of shoes but wear them only once a year for ten years, they cost ten dollars per wearing. If I pay a hundred dollars for a pair of shoes and they only last one year, but I year them a hundred times, they are 1.00 per wearing and therefore "cheaper" than the pair that lasted me ten years.
