I think everyone should know what is going on around them. Its interesting how some know more about people they talk to online then their own neighbors.

What comes to my mind is the neighbor from Bewitched who looks in the windows constantly or All in the Family where Archie is in an uproar about the Jeffersons moving into the neighbhorhood.

Unfortunately, we hear more and more planes. Every airport authority in the country has the right to control its plane flights - taking in the local opinion, but ours does not. We have to rely on part time residents who think 20 minutes is too much to drive to a bigger airport specifically built for the larger planes. (AKA yet another reason why I will NEVER EVER support John McCain or Barbara Boxer)

I hear planes, helicopters and trains all day but you get used to them.

I haven't in 20 years. We don't hear trains, but the helicopters have been more and more frequent since the second gulf war.
