Oh man, have you been following the whole hubbub about how people are against the red-light cameras? They're whining that since the cameras only capture the license plate, the owner of the car might be "unfairly" ticketed if they lent their car and the driver (not the owner) was the one who ran the red light. My opinion: Don't lend your car to bad drivers!!!

Citibank, BofA, JPMChase, Merrill Lynch should have all failed? as well as GM and Chrysler?... So, the US economic system should have collapsed and we should be looking at a 50% or more unemployment rate? He's sounds very wise...

in one area we used to live, the controversy about new apartments being built was that they would have allowances for section 8.

Okay, so there are two people who are your neighbors who get to pay a very low rate. Your district must be very generous. I have volunteered for a non profit that helps people in need. We see quite a few people with Section 8 (and other types of housing subsidies), I get to see all the financials to help discern who is in need for other help and most pay quite a bit for their apartments - even after the subsidy. Like I said, One bedrooms for $800 per month and 3 bedrooms for $1200 per month. I have never seen anything like the $30 you claim except for transitional type facilities.

That logic doesn't work with parking tickets, and the red light tickets are treated the same way here.

Yep, and IME, THESE people (not saying ALL people on section 8) had the latest toys, had big screen TV's, air conditioning when myself could not afford it, the latest computer (while mine was old), etc.
