This theme was touched upon in another thread and I wanted to discuss it further.

Privately owned expensive homes are lived in by many different types of people. Many are harmless but many are not. Many have mental disabilities. You also do not know what type of friends they are allowing at their homes also.

Privately owned middle-class homes are lived in by many different types of people. Many are harmless but many are not. Many have mental disabilities. You also do not know what type of friends they are allowing at their homes also.

Rented homes are lived in by many different types of people. Many are harmless but many are not. Many have mental disabilities. You also do not know what type of friends they are allowing at their homes also.

Jeeze-Louise, this is getting a little too existential for me!

As far as I can tell, you said that you do search out the information. At least according to this exchange:

http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-pssahwoh&msg=19577.730

Tryingtoquit: "?? You said "I heard they pay quite well". That is hearsay."

You: "Yes from people who have gone there for jobs and online searches."

http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-pssahwoh&msg=19577.734&x=y

Why would you search for the information online? Why search at all?

"No but if it was a dangerous situation, I would find out if that person is actually allowed to live there. I WILL call any source that I can if there is problems with the tenants of a state owned home though."

Ok, so unless that person is living there illegally or doing something illegal, you are prepared to put up with any potential dangers posed to your house or children. Understood.

I am curious, though: are you saying that you would only call if the problems involved tenants of a state owned home, or are you saying that problems only arise with tenants in state owned homes? I would imagine that one would try to resolve problems regardless of the state of ownership, but maybe that's just me....

But if I give them to you, I won't qualify either...then how will I afford my life of luxury?

i don't know what you mean by acting entitled but i do know some who pretend to be someone they're not, i suppose that is acting out to some degree...my circle of friends IRL don't talk about wealth, how big our bank accounts are, etc, that's rude.

You can have her babies, but there needs to be a father, and the father needs to qualify for WIC. Then we can all say we know a man who is on WIC.

What does the Duggars' next baby have to do with any of this?

i think the more wealth you have - and this just comes from observation and experiences - the less you're flaunting it or bragging about it.

Lauren, that is brilliant! We should start a petition.

I'm going to be chuckling all night over that one.
