Yep and not sure who ever said they DO have conversations that ONLY consist of "how much do you make or do you rent or own".

When the information comes from another neighbor who is giving you the "scoop" on everyone in the neighborhood, it counts as gossip in my book. Obviously, you see this differently. As I said before: it must be a cultural difference. It would be interesting for me to study your culture sometime, it's so very different from anything I've ever experienced ;-).
Maybe it is just too different as I would never consider finding out someone's occupation to be gossipy.

Well, I can't help the impression I'm getting from this conversation that in certain cultures that sort of information is considered important or interesting :-).

A good one. To say more than that would involving gossiping or bragging, in my book.
