"Reading the local paper is NOT searching but if you think so-lol!!"
Well, either you read your newspaper from cover to cover, including all articles, or else you are searching for the information in the local paper :-).
The only thing I do not read is the sports section.
"If I CHOOSE to look on a local site then that is my choice as it IS out there for the public to see and not sure WHY it would be wrong to see it."
I didn't say it was wrong. I said that you search for the information, which you do. You are actively choosing to go to a site and look up information about other people's income. That's not accidentally finding out or being told by the person in question, that's searching for the information.
I have not "searched" for it as I have gotten the websites from others who actually have their salaries on there.
Whether it is wrong or not apparently depends on cultural expectations. In your culture, apparently, there is nothing wrong with looking up other people's salaries. In my culture, it would be considered wrong, vastly impolite and possibly bordering on mental instability. Different strokes for different folks :-)!
I guess so :)
A private company is one that's privately owned usually by one or a few people. Its owners don't have to reveal much about their business, and most of us investors can't invest in it.
A public company is the opposite.
"I have not "searched" for it as I have gotten the websites from others who actually have their salaries on there. "
It doesn't really matter where you got website from. You actively choose to go there and actively choose to look up other people's salaries. That is definitely searching. I wonder how some people would feel if they knew someone was looking up their financial information online. Apparently, around your neck of the woods people either don't get bothered by it or are too polite to say anything.
Kind of..yes..what other type of meeting do you mean then?
Very often, when I meet someone new, I already know their occupation ... based upon the context of our meeting.
A public company is one that is incorporated and publicly held.
