I realize you can't generalize when it comes to gender, you can find good and bad in both of them.  I was just curious what everyone's experiences have been when it comes to management, if you've have a better experience with a man versus a woman.

In your experience, who have been the better bosses?  Did your experiences differ when it came to the position you were in, the career path you were on, or whether you had children at the time or were childless?

Again Chest my business does not work that way , 100%. We work off trends. If you dont get on the boat asap, you lose out. Most everything else is a controlled manner but many, many new things have to be done yesterday.

I don't know.  In college, I mostly hung out with DH's male friends, and I find it's often easier to talk to men than women.  I get along with women, too, so maybe it just seems better because I do work with mostly men now?

You sound very uninformed about how development, sales and marketing can work to drive business results. I'm not surprised as that is not your role.

Trends are predicted by savvy businesses with comprehensive and reactive business plans, and reactions to a change in trends is iterative and never a complete surprise.

No regina I am surprised that they have enough work if they were bit by the recession. I have noticed that Lauren has been on this board during the day though lately so I am not sure why the long hours if you can be online so much.

G--just b/c they were hit by the recession doesn't mean they won't have work. My best friend just bought a struggling business. She's working 80/hr work weeks--there isn't a lack of things for her to do. In fact, she's working HARDER trying to drum up business b/c of the crappy economy.

In any case, having been acquainted w/Lauren for well over 11 years now, I don't doubt that she's doing the work of two people at work. This certainly isn't the first time she's referenced it. In fact, I remember well her talking about the eliminated position when it was eliminated. Why are you trying to make her into a liar?

You never used the word "liar"...but you certainly implied it. It really isn't that difficult to understand that when one person does the work of two (or more) that the number of hours one works would increase as well. And haven't we been down the "hours" road before? Not all jobs are 9-5.... Why should it matter to you what hours she is working or posting?

If I had to pick one person from this group who works the hardest, I think Lauren would win.  And this a group of very hard-working women!
