I realize you can't generalize when it comes to gender, you can find good and bad in both of them.  I was just curious what everyone's experiences have been when it comes to management, if you've have a better experience with a man versus a woman.

In your experience, who have been the better bosses?  Did your experiences differ when it came to the position you were in, the career path you were on, or whether you had children at the time or were childless?

Are you asking me to define it, Jams? I am not the one who brought it up. I also didn't "slam" the meaning.... I was simply trying to get a clear picture of what spice girl was talking about. Do you need clarification on something that I said? I would be happy to clear up anything that was confusing. And, what is the relevance of my position?

Ha, Your husband cries at movies. I don't think I've ever seen DH cry at a movie and I had a running record of it too until I watched the movie Marley and Me.... DD and I still watch it sometimes and I still can't sit through it without tearing up.

My dad cried at more movies than all the women in the family combined. And don't get me started on his reaction to every Little House on the Prairie episode.

I don't know and never will -- as I've never worked in an only male office and, since I don't have a penis, never will (lol).

I am surprised that if you were one of one of the companies in your industry that got hit hard by the recession, that you would still have so much work that your hours have not cut down yet Lauren.

Having been in the industry Lauren is, and having done almost the exact same job, I can clearly state that you do not understand the nature of her job. Which is understandable, because she hasn't shared those details with you.  But, since you cannot clearly understand it, you should refrain from making conclusions about it.

Suffice it to say that the very reason Lauren's job has become more demanding is *because* they were hit hard by the recession.

The same goes for an all male workplace.

Just now having time to read this thread ....

I agree with Bord, Rollmops, Ggal, and others that I don't think gender inherently makes one a better or worse boss.

I do, however, think that an entire office/staff of only women is a negative compared to a mixed gender office.
