That's probably how my dh's system is supposed to work--only one point for teh same problem.

Unless I'm in the hospital or have been advised by a physician not to work, I go in.

One thing that puzzles me, though: people absolutely freak out when someone has conjunctivitis and practically drive the person out the door ("Your eye is all red! Don't come near me!"), but don't get as upset when someone shows up with the flu. Why? Conjunctivitis is highly contagious, but it doesn't make you as sick as influenza, whose complications can actually kill you.

I know.

I think we get 12 points. At 6 points, you get a vebal warning, at 9 a written warning, at 12 you're fired. I know people were able to "work off" points by picking up extra shifts if the manager would let them.

And they roll off. So if you earned a point on December 1st of this year, that point would roll off an not count anymore on December 1st of next year.

So to get fired, you'd have to call in sick on average of once a month. That's a lot IMHO. But if they counted a point for every day you were sick with one illness, 12 points would accumulate really quickly if you have one bout of the flu.

Your DH's system sounds jacked up.
