Do you think a SAHM should go back to work once the kids start school?

  • Absolutely, why shouldn't she? There's no reason why she shouldn't.
  • It's up to her & her family.
  • No, not really. What do the kids being in school have to do w/ her working?

ROFL thanks for the heads up! So we are playing with someone who THINKS she knows EVERYTHING, eh? Okaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I don't think she is qualified for that until she has been to:

every town, city, province

every neighborhood, street, cul-de-sac

every school, every 'y', every parks & rec activity center

etc, etc, etc

But she can pretend if she wants and that makes her happy :o)

You know what? Just today they brought Martha Stewart back to our local network. I don't know how I feel about the scandal she is involved in but I do like her show...and I found out today that her show goes very well with sitting down to make out a grocery list and writing checks for bills! lol!

Ok, so because i am the one who has the ovaries, his wants can be ignored? I really did not feel that it was fair to him for me to say, "Well, I have the eggs, so you don't get the baby." If I wanted another baby, I would certainly want him to agree to it. Having children is not a 70/30 split in the favor of the mom. I wanted more children, too. I just could not figure how things would work out. Our fifth baby was a big whoppin surprise. No arguing there. The fourth is the only one we argued about. The issue was never whether or not to have another baby. It was about how to have another baby. In the end, my desire for another child won out over the career... for now.

Of course you're not "buying" what I'm saying, you're not even understanding what I'm saying!

Get a clue Silver, you're scaring me!

Ha! I prefer to be home from 6:00 pm on too, but it doesn't quite work out that way.

I guess you don't plan on your children participating in team sports?

>>>>>>>>(because I cannot think of a less healthy family environment in which to raise a child than one in which one of his parents was coerced into having him). <<<<<

Yes, but this kind of implies that I didn't want my child. That is just not the case. She is very wanted.

No, only if you have a responsible, professional, competitive position that you value.

If you work in the mailroom it's probably perfectly acceptable to take all your lunch breaks.

I am finding this whole conversation pretty funny because activities between 4-6pm are pretty popular here and *everyone* is WOH. Most swimming classes take place between 1-5pm on week days (there are weekend classes as well). Admittedly, the 1-3pm classes are not so popular, but the place is packed for the 3-5pm classes during the week. Weekend swimming classes are also quite popular. Most soccer clubs have practice at between 4-6pm week days, though games are usually scheduled for around 5-6 pm. Friday afternoon tennis is hugely popular, though there are weekend possibilities as well. Everyone I know is WOH and yet they all manage to handle activities for their kids between the hours of 4 and 6pm

I don't think he will be getting a new wife. There are only two things that would cause me to divorce my dh. Cheating and hitting. That's it. We don't even talk like that. Besides, how is that gonna solve the issue?
