I grew up in a fairly well off environment. My grandparents were wealthy, and my dad and uncle are also. As a child, I did not feel wealthy at all, because we lived very frugally and my father is a total tightwad. We drove old, beaten up cars, had old clothes etc.

Well, yes, difference in opportunities will have an effect on how your life plays out. To my mind, going to Disney does not rank one way or the other, and there are many opportunities that are not directly related to money.
However, my kid is currently happily ensconced in a pleasant university studying away. Her cousins are scrounging around trying to figure out a way to FIND the money so that they might go to university. 5-6 years from now there will be a difference in how these kids' lives play out.

I agree with you. Being poor is just plain draining and it sucks.

LOL, i like the way you think.
Before I had children we decided we wouldn't do the Disney vacation.
I do too.
That is a very good point.
