Whether they had married someone before or not wouldn't matter to me.

Obviously if you are wanting a church wedding, particularly in your faith where religion is a sacrament, you need an ordained officiant. But marriage isn't a sacrament for much of the world, so that consideration is irrelevant.

As I explained to Lois, she has no religious and spiritual background and I feel marriage is more than just a peice of paper.

No I didn't "need" a Vienesse table BUT I did want my ceremony to involve god and not just a quick thing because I wanted a marriage certificate.

She said there is more to the story and she does not want to get into it. It seems both sides of the family were NOT too happy about the marriage and that is why she volunteered to get this "certificate" online for $20.

and again -- that is their business and not yours. It is their marriage and not yours. It has no bearing on what any of us think of marriage, what we think of weddings or who married us or who we want to marry us.

Yes. We. Did.

If you only wanted spiritual and religious, what was the two year wait for?

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

Religion affecting our country.

Okay that was scary. I googled it to see if I had remembered the right wording and it gave me only one hit. John McCain's website. (shudder)
