<As I explained to Lois, she has no religious and spiritual background and I feel marriage is more than just a peice of paper. >

Hey, I still know most of the preamble to the constitution....from 9th grade, not bad I think.

1. Why?---1. I wouldn't feel comfortable marrying my sister if I just became an ordained minister and got this "degree"from online for $20.

I don't feel I am qualified because I "bought" this "degree" online

2. Why?---2. I would not feel comfortable having my sister marry me because I only wanted to spend $20 and that is how much the class cost online.

I don't feel she would be qualified because she "bought" this "degree" online

If that were true, then why does one need/want all the other stuff? Spiritual and religious isn't a fancy catering hall, open bar, big reception, fancy dress and all the other stuff many weddings have...

Because the rest of the stuff is the party to celebrate the marriage. No one says you have to have that but many people would like to celebrate it with other people.

Did you learn the preamble from schoolhouse rock the way I did? I have to sing it to remember it but man I know the WHOLE THING!
"If gay Americans are not allowed to get married and have all the benefits that American citizens are entitled to by the Bill of Rights, they should get one hell of a tax break. That is my opinion,"

- Jeane "Dear Abby" Phillips, in an interview with Lisa Leff.

Yes. We. Did.

-time to save for the party to celebrate with our family and friends as we wanted to share our marriage with them too.
-time to save for our future home and vacation after the wedding
-time for me to finish school so I would have a good job when we did get married-got a fulltime job 5 months after we got engaged.
