Heck yeah and we do!! We have the same plan you do. They weed, trim, mulch etc. There are 5 of them. Takes them less than an hour to do what would take my husband 3+ hours to do. I just paid someone to paint my kitchen too. Why do it ourselves when we can pay someone to do it? lol God bless America!! :)
Some of that is determined by the # of kids, your job situation and your commute. That's not how my day goes. I get up between 6-7am (6am this morning); have coffee and be on the computer until about 8-9am; have breakfast; make lunch for me (this summer, Dylan makes his own lunch); get dressed and we are out the door by 9:30. I don't have to be at work until 10am and it's a 15 minute commute by car. Dylan is at work with me until after lunch (or I drop him off at the theater for the free movie at 10am; then he walks to the shop afterwards--a 2.5 block walk) when he walks to the Boys and Girls Club (.5 miles same distance as from our house the his school). Last summer, I drove him--a 5-8 minute round trip. I don't shower in the morning, I take a bath or shower at night just before bed. When Dylan is in school, he gets up between 6:30 and 7am; leaves for school by 7:15 (he walks); eats breakfast at school. School starts at 8am. He also buys lunch at school. When he was in dc, we left the house at 9am. It's a 20 minute commute to dc and a 10 minute ride from dc to work.
I leave work between 4-5pm, depending on the work load and time of year. Pick up Dylan from the B&G Club (or after school care at his school). Dinner is between 6-7, maybe dh eats with us, usually not, depending on his work schedule which changes from day to day. Dylan does his homework in afterschool care. He takes his bath at 8pm and is in bed at 9pm.
Dh gets up between 5-6. He does shower in the morning and combines walking the dog with accompanying Dylan on his walk to school. He Makes his lunch and leaves for work by 9:30; his work starts also starts at 10am but his commute is 20-30 minutes. He can be home anywhere from 3:30 to 9pm.

So what you're saying is not that it's "women's" and "men's" work, but that that's how you and your dh divide the workload.
