Because I am curious of what other people would "claim" as income besides their paychecks.

<<So, you HAVE rented out of your home?>>

What part of my answer was unclear?

<<Did you report that to the town that you were renting out of your home? Was it a separate apt in your home? >>

Of course and no it wasn't an apartment, it was a room.

"That money legally should be claimed as income."

Have you ever claimed it or know anyone who has?

Because you have not answered my question.

Have you ever had a garage sale and claimed the money you made from it?

Because I know the general area where you live AND you have repeatedly stated that it is common "by you" to rent illegally. You prefer to call your area plain middle class, not a problem. In that case, this practice is obviously common in middle class areas as well. It is just that in the areas that I think of as "middle class" this practice was not common, at all. However, for the third time, perception of what is lower middle, middle middle and upper middle varies a great deal.
