Occassional babysitting, dh does comp repair, has helped with construction projects that people have paid him for, I've been paid for helping people organize rooms and/or closets in their homes, stuff like that.....

With receipts? Unless they LIE!!! (like you about ebay and garage sale income).

I do my own taxes, I've reported all income, and never taken a deduction without a receipt. Is honesty that unusual?

I am sure he does if he is a gambler. Most gamblers do so they can claim their loses too. I know gamblers who win alot and they always have records of their loses for tax time.
