I'm not very familiar with Montessori schools, other than I've heard about them and I've seen some from the outside, but I'm glad that your DS had such a great teacher at the parish preschool!
This is the sort of ad that I'm seeing. It doesn't seem like a public preschool would advertise like this, so I'm assuming it's private or parish:

"Small, fun preschool in needs happy, kind teachers. Great job for a Mom with a young child. We have very low teacher to student ratios. Please call if you are looking to make a difference in the lives of children."

Not to mention that it shouldn't be so hard to imagine or understand that someone could be qualified to do different things.

Many of your better college prep schools do not have "certified" teachers. Instead, they have teachers with advanced degrees in their subjects. Just like colleges and universities.

From the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics: "Private schools are generally exempt from meeting State licensing standards."

We live in a college town, where zoning is a huge issue, as students are rather prone to taking in illegal roommates. In our town, a single family home cannot have "more than two unrelated people" living in it. I don't know the rules in Jzy's town, but here, her arrangement would be perfectly legal -- she lived with her son and a roomie. The roomie was the only unrelated person.

I do find it insulting because she is classifying me as something I am not and where I live. She used to live in a neighborhood that had a majority of Italians so maybe that is why she thinks my area is that way, don't know.

My family would be considered middle class-upper class Italians.

Can I ask WHERE you think I live? Do you know the ethnic background of my town or were you just guessing and assuming. I can tell you yours as you have posted before where you lived in NY.

ITA with you. She doesn't even know what area I am from and what the majority of people inhabit it though.

Hmmm..I thought you originally said your home WAS multi-family zoning and you changed it, no?
