The special ed students at our school are placed first. There is input from both their current special ed teacher and their general ed teacher. Like LDs are grouped together to aid in pullouts.

I don't think there is a federal requirement for gender or ethnic diversity within a school. I do know that dynamics in a classroom are different when there is a gender "gap".

Pop Warner is not the only youth football program in the us, many local communities (ime) have them.

Dylan's first grade was terrible. His original teacher was great and so was the long term sub he had at the end of the school year. But the sub in between was terrible. He ended up leaving school at lunch time and doing his school work at home in the afternoons just to get out of the classroom.

LOL. Adminstrators LOVE whiney parents complaining about their child's teacher placement. My advice is save your chits for when you will really need them.

The safety of the town, my dh lived here when he was small, the size of the town, and I also looked at test scores from school's in different districts.
