I go with the basic definition of the word Christian; someone who professes a belief in the teaching of Jesus Christ.

Now, how people profess that belief is where all the hubbub comes in, imo, lol.

I was educated in public school, and had a good experience, so I chose that for my dd.

What can I say--the history book that the girls had sucked big time. And Joy certainly knew more than her 8th grade history teacher expected her to know--more than what was in the book and what he taught about it. But, yes, it was an exaggeration. As for Erica helping the 6th grade art teacher, there was only one art teacher. And the curriculum was more arts and crafts and art appreciation than fine art. All of which Erica had either been doing since she was 3 years old or already knew. So, since it wasn't possible for the teacher to create an entire curriculum for just one child, she allowed Erica to either do her own thing or help out in the class. By doing that, the teacher also acknowledged Erica's special problems. And to clarify things, this was a Montessori elementary school setting.

My mom grew up in Salt Lake and said "boy if you ever want to know what it's like to be a minority, grow up Catholic in Salt Lake City!" LOL

Don't they have other jobs than just the National Guard. Don't know if I read this wrong but aren't you saying they are only working 2 days a month? How can you survive on that?
