my dad donates to charity in honor of his grandchildren, the humbling thing is my kids are the ones who get the thank you card from the charity!

That's great that you have a good balance. Because someone feels she does not have a good balance at the moment, does not mean she has poor time management skills. She may need more sleep than you do and has less free time. Or she may have higher cleaning standards. Or she may have responsibilities that take more time than your responsibilities. Or she may be a person who needs more downtime than you do. Or she . . .

Well, I agree but your summary is outside of the context in which I posted my example and wasn't about any other activites or even balance in one's life.

Expense is what has kept me from going totally local with most foods.

"Elite private school" kids aren't the only ones who do these things in the hope of being competitive for top colleges. Race to Nowhere" is a thought-provoking documentary on this topic.

Do your parents see your children every.single.day?

Why do you think a grandparent who does not live close by not be involved in their grandchild's life everyday?

Why do they need to see them every single day to be a part of their lives, weren't you going on and on about not needing to even be in the same area to be a part of a child's life?

I always use walnuts; I like them just as well as pine nuts, if not better.

Yeah, 75% of kids are involved in after school activities in ah ha's children's school because they do not have busses and if they have parents who work later than when school lets out, where else would they go and what would they do. Bawahhhaa..

I find it odd that parents would drive home from work too and then come back out to get their kids from school since I am pretty sure ah ha said that her kids school is not close to her home, maybe 30-45 mins away and she was closer to work (I am not 100% sure now though).

Well that is an interesting fictional conclusion.

Logic and facts aren't getting us very far here....
