Yes, I know.

But that still doesn't mean that this statement is true, the job doesn't take up most of one's time, which was the point of my statement, not this tangent.

Well, then that's a simple math demonstration and has nothing to do with time management skills.

Yes, I know that kids in public school are doing this too, which makes it all the more odd that Cru is insisting on some different scenario that she created in her own mind.

Around here, when my Dad was a kid, it was really rare to see white-tailed deer-- they were over-hunted. Now, they've put in a lot of restrictions on hunting deer, and I think fewer people hunt now than used to. The population has exploded-- so much so that many of the deer are dying from wasting disease (or whatever it's called).

We had a ton of basil this year-- just from one plant! I make about half of our pesto with walnuts in place of pine nuts. It tastes a little bit different, but DH actually prefers it that way.

Oh I get it, it's only bad when my son decides to form a study group that meets after school some days.

And I think you would find that in many high-performing public schools as well. Did you happen to see the NYT article a few weeks ago about how kids in elite private schools (mainly prep schools on the east coast) are now planning exotic summer experiences solely for the purpose of writing the "perfect" college essay that will stand out from the others?

It wouldn't matter what type school my children attended, I'm sure that egd and cruise would find fault in whatever they or I did, even when one of their own children is doing the exact same thing.

But I will say, being a student athlete (or a student who is active in clubs and/or other outside the classroom academics/arts) regardless of the school (public or private, elite or not) is not easy and one has to give up things in order to be successful at being a student athlete....and yes, that would include hours of watching television during the week.

Oh good, do I use the same ratio/amount and do I need to adjust any other seasoning for the different taste?

Pine nuts are just do darn expensive and I get walnuts more locally.
