It's almost as if I didn't mention the option of car pools, students driving themselves, other options (grandparents for example) and flexible schedules of parents.

When her child needs a ride home, every.single.day, there is that possibility that he has NO choice but to stay. My dd has a choice. She can go home or stay anytime once school lets out.

But he doesn't, I never said he needed a ride home every day from school, that would be your assumption.

Why do you keep insisting that the child has no choice but to stay after school when Ah Hah has assured us all, numerous times, that she would come whenever necessary to pick up the kid?

So all these years of playing sports and there is no intention to try and get a scholarship?

Nope, no incorrect claims. Just a sample of my day and what I feel I could do with the time if I did not work.

Ah ha has used a 75 percentile of children who stay after for clubs and sports. Do I think ALL of this 75% could not get a ride right after school and WANT to join a club or sport? OF COURSE NOT as I have said MANY times before. Do I think that MANY of them DO have to stay and wait for a ride and have none right after school, YES. Do I think MANY of them join clubs and sports because they need to find something to do (even if they WANT to and ENJOY joining the club or sport) before they have a ride, YES.

Well my parents moved so I could use that example as a close family member.

I think there is a greater variety of kids in most public schools, some of whom are building resumés in order to try to get into the most selective colleges, some of whom will be content to go to less selective colleges, and some who are not planning to go to college at all.

What age are kids allowed to drive to school? I ask because in our h.s. it is not until 12th grade which would leave 5 other grades needing rides home.

I agree and when my children were younger, I was in very similar shoes.
