My kids are little, but I seem to spend a lot of time on the weekends doing errands and/or cleaning and/or cooking and/or doing household projects. I imagine (maybe incorrectly) that I could get most of those things done between 8 and 5 on M-F, so we could do fun things on the weekends.

I had no idea that's what that's called. I make that occasionally in the summer . . . My parents have both wild blackberries and wild black raspberries growing at their house.

What if he wants to go home right after school? Do you pick him up then too?

My parents never moved to a retirement place.

Dh's birthday is at the end of November, and he always requests a pumpkin pie. I have pumpkin right now that needs to be made into a pie-- hopefully this weekend.

I'm the same way. I have a certain work load that need to get done. When I do it, is entirely up to me. I created my own schedule, and I schedule my own meetings. If I need to veer from it for any reason, I can. My youngest goes to work with me for a couple of hours a day, a couple of days a week. He likes it when the receptionist is out, so he can sit at the reception desk and play on the computer, lol.

I really feel like I have the best of both worlds!

I've never heard of black raspberries, but they sound really good. I love berries.

I am like most American's that are working to pay their bills and fund their retirement account. I would not be working at my job if I did not enjoy it for the most part. Again, it is work, something that "most" people would rather not do but have to, to pay the bills and fund their retirement.

Dh works 12 hour shifts, four days a week (and about once a mnth, he takes an extra day off). We take one of those three days to take care of errands, then the weekend is NOT so full of *chores*.
