Not sure why kids who have someone at home would need the aftercare though. Must be the same thought of my school district and ones around me.

Why not? An injury happened in their property.

Just like if someone gets hurt at my house, I would be liable.

You were both insured and had licenses. I guess my district doesn't want to take the chance of someone suing them for having a student with no license and no insurance damaging a car of someone that does.
