In our public schools, it depends on the situation at the individual school. Most of the elementary schools have plenty of room in their before and after school programs, so they are available to anyone who wants to pay for them. I hear some of the schools now have wait lists, and I am not sure how they handle that.

Not sure why kids who have someone at home would need the aftercare though. Must be the same thought of my school district and ones around me.

I can think of several. They have several children in different schools and need to take one or another to an therapy or activity.

The federal government doesn't have a set definition for "full time work."

"You do realize that there are going to be times when teens are driving on campus even though they don't have or need a parking permit, right?"

If they are students, then no, they can not park in that lot.

I already gave an example. Is someone at home when your daughter comes home from school?

Your experierence means nothing. The school may very well have paid the med bills. It does not mean that they were liable.

Do you know what liable means?

What do you consider full time then?

Not sure of the amount of kids that are allowed in but we have to sign the kids up by a certain date in August so they are sure to be allowed in the first week of school. I sign my ds up for before and after just in case I ever need it. I have never had to use before though but it is an option if I have to be at work earlier than usual.

Our care is only for working parents though and that is specifically asked and checked on the application.

For a variety of reasons, one of which was mentioned in a post to you.
