This is an issue that effects both SAH and WOH.

It sounds like most people have a set time for homework. We do not, no 2 nights are the same here. My oldest likes to wait till the little ones are being put to bed to do his because it's quite noisey with 5 siblings runnig around.

If it ever became a problem with them doing it whenever I'd change things but I have 4 in school and so far so good. I went to 6th grade parent orientation today and it sounds like my oldest will have much less homework next year then he did this year.

My oldest would like to do this too, for the same reason.

That's pretty cool, however your son sounds older then mine. Mine is still in Elemenatry school, so waiting until the girls go to bed, which is 8pm is not an option. I have the set time for a reason, so that after dinner they have time to unwind before bed.

I know not everything we do works for everyone, my ex SIL is always a great example. She has had her son doing homework until midnight

He's in 5th grade, it works for him/us. He goes to bed at 10:00 and gets up on his own at 7:00(he and 3rd grader sleep in the basement, I'm on the second floor)

Really, why? My kids don't seem harmed by their homework.

Wow, and people wonder why the U.S. educational system is so far beneath that of other countries

It's just not effective early on and kids burn out.

Homework has nothing to do with that.
