Wrt their working status/parenting as an adult?

If you SAH, will you encourage your daughter (or son) to do the same? How would you feel if they chose different from the path you have taken as a parent?

You know, your mom could leave money directly to her grandkids if she chooses. And if she gives it to them outright, there's not much you can do to not "allow" this.

Yep, ask me how hard it was at 17 to find a regular fulltime job.

Yep, we know the tiniest little 10yr old female athlete. She does, exclusively, hockey and soccer at a very high level. She's played AA hockey for 3 or 4 years. She was invited to try out for AAA this year ... and didn't make it. Why? She was judged to be "just too small". Its not a skill or talent issue ... pure size. You can't always "just decide to" when physical strength and stature are involved as criteria - men or women.

Like she said...you can't take care of yourself. You have taken the whole adult dependancy on others thing to a fairly high level. You don't seem to have a clue about reality. And the cost of it You are going to easily pay someone to do cooking, cleaning and lawncare on the income you earn through "freebie" relative sympathy jobs where you aren't bringing anything actually usefull skill wise or experience wise to the table, above and beyond what the average 16 yr old with a pt job would bring. No wait...probably less. Uh-huh. And Okeedokee. But I'll give you this. Your family sure seems to be bending over backwards to get you into less financially dependant position than the one you have worked so hard to create for yourself...right from your estranged mother through your Dad and brother and sister right to your sisters in law. Hmmmm. I wonder...do they view your wonderful situation somewhat differently than you do yourself?
