Wrt their working status/parenting as an adult?

If you SAH, will you encourage your daughter (or son) to do the same? How would you feel if they chose different from the path you have taken as a parent?

My parents taught me never to have debt other than school loans and mortgages.

Well then we agree...that the 4 year old need not be realistic. Remember how I said specifically I had no respect for the sort of parenting that would direct a 4 yr old otherwise.

The adult mother on the other hand, is another thing. You are living in lala land wrt to wills and ways. Probably only wrt to your own child...thats how it usually works. Thats the other extreme of parenting, also something for which I have no respect.

You can't say you married truly, honestly for love alone then either, because you certainly factored in your DH's willingness to work and income earning ability even though it wasn't a matter of survival for you. (That's not a slam, I think that's wise.)

Which I sort of interpret would mean alot of men make some pretty - questionable - decisions in this regard.

Do you think it's more of my business in the event either of your marriages breaks up?
