well, congratulations!!! trust me, not all women can afford to stay home and take care of their little ones. It will be a change in your life that like any other you will have to get used to, but trust me you will see that it is worth it!!! I believe life comes in diferent stages and right now being a stay home mom it just an experience that is unique. I can see that you would not have any problems later on to get another dream job, maybe even something better!! who knows? right know just concentrate on the good you will do to your children, that for me it is worth more than any job!!!

With 3 kids, I wouldn't consider WOH without a FT nanny, at least.

DH owns two businesses, sole owner of one and (we)co-own another.

I'd have a hard time leaving a "dream job", but I only have one kid.

Are you planning on waiting until your husbands work schedule changes or are you planning on quitting and hoping that the extra income comes through? I would personally have a hard time just quitting without knowing that his income had increased enough to cover the household income. Things don't always come through as expected.

I do hope it works out for you and your family. I stay home with our 4 sons and love it but wouldn't put family finances do it unless my dh could provide.

Good luck

Given the recession and the precarious job market, I would not quit your job based on an "expectation" that your husband might make more money.
