Yes you have a point there, however if I saw a wife (or husband) who had a good marriage even though hard times like deployments and such I would ask myself what they are doing right.
Who said their life wasn't in good shape? Just because kids have problems doesn't mean people don't have their act together. I have a dd on the autism spectrum (one of the handful of special needs kids referred to by another poster). This is not a problem that I created through parenting. It's just a fluke of genetics (or enviromental toxins, but that's a whole 'nother debate board). The mere fact of having a kid with a problem doesn't mean somebody's life is in bad shape.
You post as though there is an absolute dichotomy where people are either perfect with perfect children or their lives are in bad shape and nobody should take advice from them.
