A marriage isn't about being right. It's about compromising until you both come to a place where you can live more or less in harmony. Sometimes convictions are incompatible with a certain marriage. For instance the conviction that a child shouldn't be slapped around by Dad will likely end a marriage and that's just as well. But her conviction is just that she should not have to work while raising a child and though this conviction may be incompatible with staying married, divorce won't let her hold onto it.
Ok. You are talking major problems like drug addiction or being a runaway. But WHY are you talking about those major problems? It isn't relevent. Or are you trying to imply that those are problems that the kids of moms on this board have? What is your goal in bringing up drug addiction and running away?
