You really had me going with that first paragraph. It's a good thing that I read the whole thing. And then had to read it again slowly just to savor the brilliance of it all.

You've never read my posts about Erica, have you? The is revolving the family's life around one of the children and then there revolving your life around your child's life.

None of the advice has anything to do with what I asked for.

Mmmm, because as I have posted on this thread, it nearly happened to me? And not for any selfish reason of wanting to stay home. But for the very good reason of raising a special needs child.

Dramatic much? Woh now equals selling your soul to the devil?? Wow.

And no one said only his feelings matter. What has been said to you (over and over and over) is that you need to find a way to compromise. Not just his feelings matter, but not just YOUR feelings matter either.

We'll need to budget but living on a budget is not the end of the world.

For me that would be a yes if I planned the heart attack to take an extended leave. Was your birth of your child unplanned, or did you perhaps have about 9mos notice?

Huh? Dh and I have "done it right" 3 times now and have every expectatin of "doing it right" with the 4th one. And neither dh's or my work status had anything to do with it. Except for Erica. But then, she was not your normal, average, every day child either.
