I'm a WOHM who works because I really enjoy working, and because college and retirement will be so very expensive. It's insulting to think that I WOH to bring in income to "shop."
"Working to just make extra money when you are handing your child off to someone else is because you are shirking your responsibility simply to have more money.
No problem. I have been a sahm for the benefit of Erica. This is a difference between having to sah for the child and just wanting to sah to the point where it is affecting the stability of the marriage. In the case of the op, she has stated repeated her reasons for wanting to sah. And none of them so far has anything to do with her child but everything to do with her. She has implied that she and her dh are Christian (at least, she has stated that they go to church) but has not offered any Biblical reasons why her sah is moral to counter my statements that the Proverbs 31 woman was praised by her husband and children for her taking care of them, including financially. She is apparently unwilling to entertain any compromise on her line drawn in the sand.

1) Make sure you have at least 6 months of your expenses saved in a fairly liguid asset to buoy you during hard times.

Yes. We. Did.
And not much time for any counseling to get done either.
