i'm staying away from the OP in what a good parent/bad parent is but your post strikes a cord with me.....every saturday ( and sunday ) lunch was always the top of the hour, 12 noon.

I think that it is wonderful that your mother did that every weekend.

But if one Saturday she told the family "I have been up all night with stomach flu, just the thought of food makes me sick. So everyone is going to have to fend for themselves today." it would not make her a bad parent.

That is the point I have been trying to make.

I'd probably do that if I had to (show up at 4:30 am). But I'd probably be looking for other gymnastic classes that would work for the child. And/or I would be lobbying for a new set up for the sign up for the class or lobbying for additional classes being added.

I did all the above.


THis term it was 7:30 am. Thankfully. And they had a form you could fill out on-line and hand to them when it was your turn. Then they took the forms, filed them and phoned you to tell you if you got your classes. All based on first come first serve,


They are the only multi use facility in my town.
