Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

Property taxes which are crippling us frankly. and a 8% rooms and meals tax that hits all the tourists.... I honestly don't see things continuing this way without broadbased tax reform. In fact our state supreme court ruled themethod of funding public education based on property taxes was unconstitutional b/c it put property poor towns at a disadvantage. They ruled this over 10 years ago... it's still not fixed...it's getting ugly at the statehouse...

Yes but doesn't your dryer get hot when it is running? Mine is. I actually like to dry things, shoes for instance on top of it when it is running.

Well I have to sort of agree with you. I can't *stand* unmade beds. My DH makes our bed because he is always up later than me. that's the rule in our room. Whoever gets up last, makes the bed behind them.
He doesnt make the kids beds. Either our housekeeper does (twice a week) or on days she isnt here, I do. I do it when I get home from work though before they go back to bed for the night. Its a pet peave;)
As for other major cleaning, I don't do it. I do however wipe down all counters after all meals I make, and wipe down the bathroom after make up/hair every day. Its another pet peave. I like all counters clean.
DH doesnt share that peave so I deal with it. No big deal.
Your post about mopping and vaccuming before bed though -- that's DEFINETLY not going to be me:)

It all depends on how active your children are and how lax you are with parenting.

Your have no idea how busy life with older kids is. I am a lot busier now than I ever was when my kids were small.Oh, and I have a husband and dog too. Just how much work does your dh add to your day?

well I for one have taken "lax" parenting to new and proud heights -- I challenge anyone to live up to my standards! ;-)

Are you sure your dryer is properly vented. Basements are usually cooler. My dryer is on the first floor and it never gets overly warm in my laundry room.

It doesn't matter who cleaned the home. I never said it did. My point is that children benefit from growing up in a clean home.
