Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

Why would you assume that the child who bathes themselves is taking care of themselves completely then???

What is very apparent in these posts from you is that all your hardships are because of external factors. Your kids are young. they have adhd. your job is demanding. Your house is small. Do you not take any responsibility for this yourself? Do you not realize that you can control your own reactions and actions to make things less stressful and exhausting?

Unless a parent has really really extenuating circumstances, I'd say that most parents' lives are on pretty equal footing. We ALL have it fairly equally hard. However, many of us have changed our routines, our attitudes, our own actions, etc to make it less demanding, stressful and exhausting. I really really doubt that your life/children/job/homelife are any *harder* than anyone else's here.

Are you implying that I was a lax parent? My kids were active AND i was anything but lax.

To a certain degree, yes. Some of the way I feel comes from being home more and wanting my home to reflect that, so if dh was home more I think I would be able to let go of some of that feeling.

Can't kids with adhd learn manners?

ADHD hadn't been "labeled" but the behaviors/actions caused by the disorder still existed. I was diagnosed as hyperactive in the 80s.

ADHD has been around as long as there have been children. It just wasn't CALLED adhd until the 80s.

However, you are physically running from one thing to the next. Then there is the emotional aspect of raising teens. For you to say a mom to older kids wouldn't be tired is ridiculous.
