Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

You told hazeleyes you're not concerned about your house per se, but rather the people who live in it.

I think it is hard to believe that any mother is not tired by the end of the day. I guess because they haven't taken are of the kids, haven't cleaned....."

Let me replay my yesterday for you. I started of the day with a 45 min walk on my treadmill. Made the kids breakfast, cleaned up after them, and got on a conf call at 8.30 a.m. Worked from home -- interviews, calls, reports, lunch meeting, work from home again till 6 p.m. Make the family dinner, clean up after dinner, give the kids a bath, watch an episode of dragon tales (them I get on laptop for 20 minutes), take them to bed, read story, they are asleep by 8.30 p.m. Do a quick pick up of the living room, put toys away, etc. do an hours worth of work. Get in bed read -- asleep by 10.30 p.m.

And guess what? I *was* tired. But I'm also 6.5 months pregnant. Were I not -- I wouldnt have been that tired. Its called high energy levels and great health -- not lack of taking care of my children.

I don't know if you meant your post the way it came across -- but it was mucho judgemental.

"Now you are calling someone a lax parent?"

Yes I did and I was not pointing a finger at anyone on this board, it was a general statemetn. Except...mkatherine WANTS to be called lax, so guess it could be for her-lol!

Almost all the laundry. I don't think I mentioned laundry in my post:) He does loads and loads, folds, puts away, etc.
Cleaning, lots. He picks up after the kids the entire time I'm working. Our house is pretty much always tidy and that's due to a joint effort. In fact, he's a neat freak so its all good.
Cooking -- none. Other than the occasional boiled egg or salad he's not a cook. Never has been.
Oh and he does about 75% of the grocery shopping too.
