Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

You stated HOW it affected your childhood? I must have missed that part.

If you dh is a sahd, what is he doing? My dh works fulltime and he helps me with dinner (either bbqing or cleaning up), baths and bedtime."

After I get home from work? He's playing with the kids (often in the pool) while I cook dinner. Then he's eating dinner with us, then he's doing other stuff while I clean up. He's generally wroking on investment stuff from dinner time on and I take over kid stuff. It works for us. I love to cook so I don't want him in the kitchen. And I love the evening routine with the kids so am happy for him to get onto investments.

Thank you. And so does everyone else and some more than myself. Some days are worse than others, like others, but I can tell you that there is such a difference between my son and daughter that someone who had 5 kids like my son would have it easier than my 1 daughter. While his is an age thing, his personality is much calmer (when they are apart).

the one mantra my parents had which I've tried to lvie by was "it's just a thing" if any thing got broken ( by accident of course not willful destruction) my mom would say "it's just a thing. we don't get upset about things in this house"

I try to live by that as much as I can..

Yes. We. Did.

And how old is he? I've got twins -- just turned 4. I have found them to be most demanding for the past year.

Oh but if you *let* them make you run around, you will be runing around. that sounds like it might be the problem here. My two just turned 4. While I do alott of runing around with and for them, they can also play by themselves, they can get their own glass of water or milk.

Ok, then I understand. My dh does that same things when he gets home, keeps the kids occupied which is really great.
While your dh is doing investing, mine is doing ebay-lol!!

I agree and those who do things differently aren't bad mothers either....
