Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

My Dad just "had to have" an expensive camera in highschool- he'd moved past the lameness of the Brownie camera and wanted a Canon or Nikon or whatever was the top brand at the time. Naturally my Grandparents were not about to spend that kind of money for a highschool kid who would probably lose it anyway. He earned the money with odd jobs and I heard this whole story because that he still had that high-quality camera when I was a kid. He taught me to take photos with it. And seemed a little bummed that I wasn't as eager to be an amatuer shutterbug as he was at that age.

The problem we are having discussing this (me and mbanc) is that she thinks "doing as I pleae" means just doing things alone. My "doing as I please" means me doing things with the kids and husband also. It means coming and going when I want when there is no other obligations AND also doing my responsibilites.
