Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

my oldest is going to be 17 in a couple of weeks and still talks fondly of the times she had in daycare, she loved it. i think kids are alot more aware of what goes on around them than you would like to think

My mom went on to working in daycare after only my brother was home. She started out volunteering at Head Start, went back to school for child development classes, was hired as a teacher at Head Start, then, went on to assisting my sister at her home daycare. She took care of the babies and was the daycare's resident grandma.

LOL, my dd is an only. Somebody messed up and forgot to send a decoy first. She has shaped up right nice though with a lot of hard work.

I'm curious, why is it better to have a 80+ hour a week working spouse and a sahp versus dual 40 hour a week working spouses?

Say the net worths are the same.

Ah..see to me, doing as I please means doing as I please which could include a large variety of things as well as people.

For example, one of the things that please me is taking my kids to school and picking them up, even though I might happen to be stuck in the car pool line, it pleases me to do this task.

Liza remembers so much of her five years in daycare and talks fondly of things they did and field trips I went on while she was there (one time at a petting zoo I had to capture a runaway goat..Liza was four then and four years later she still tells people the "momma go get the goat' story... did I tell you that one of her daycare teachers just had a baby girl and gave her the same middle name as Liza (rose) and calls her "Rosie posey" just like she called Liza when she was a baby. We got together with her recently and she said "Liza was my first baby so I had to give this baby a part of her name"

Amen to that sistah -- Liza is SO emotionally intense that to say she's a challenge is an understatement. I've often said it will take a small global village to launch her into adulthood!

Ah, sorry I always thought one of the reasons you did it was that it pleased you....

Can I ask the reason since what I thought was incorrect?

My favorite was the time dd, then 3, had been with me 24/7 for a couple of months because we were temporarily relocated to another country. Finally I could take it no more and found a daycare that would take kids by the hour. I dropped dd there and did feel a bit bad, in part because she did not really speak the language. When I picked her up, I asked with some trepidation how it had been. She told me a few things, hesitated, said she did not mind that it had been a bit difficult, hesitated again then looked me in the eye and said, "you know mommy, I am sorry, but I LIKE it when I don't see you ALL the time" then apologized again. I assured her the feeling was mutual and we had a good laugh. She went back to the daycare several times, when it was time for her to have a change in the view.
