Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

I've interviewed at least 2 dozen men in the past two years who felt guilty enough about their extreme hours to make different choices in their careers to rectify the situations.
And I buy *very* expensive shoes, clothes, and work extreme hours. I feel guilt about the *hours* but never the shoes or clothes. Why should I? And if you look at who consumes the most high fashion its women by FARRRRRR. So I don't think that does anything for your case that guilt is a female, vs. male thing in this regard.
I think men feel just as guilty as women on general. Just about different things.
So your saying, the media are making stories up?...."
Oh gasp never. The media never exagerate or make anything up. LOL.
"and why should any mother feel GUILTY if they feel they are doing the right thing....Surely there are big enough women out there to know if you feel guilty, there must be a reason for it!"
I know I feel guilty for things that I shouldnt feel guilty for. Like putting my son on a time out when he hits my daughter over the head with his plastic shovel. Or putting my daughter on a time out in her room when she decides to retailiate 20 minutes later by pouring a glass of water over his head. I'm a "big enough woman" to admit I feel guilt for WOH sometimes too -- though not so much anymore. And so do *many* men -- but then I also know its the best thing for my family, for me, and for our unique situation.
I'd feel guilt over things I shouldnt feel guilt over, and things I should. LIke *most* parents.
But that's not media worthy --
