Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

"i can do so just because. not because it needs to help pay the mortgage, extra curriculars, etc. that budget is already in place on one income."
I realy hope you understand how blessed and fortunate you are that your DH is so well paid ... to talk about being able to return to work "just because' with almost the same off handeness others might say they got a pedicure "just because" is so far from the reality of most working mothers I almost can't get my hands around it.
Yes. We. Did.
>>That is why I load the belt a certain way. I put all the things that are alike together and that is how they get bagged by the store bagger and I dont have to do..<<
the baggers do a good job organizing then bagging common items, too. i sort of just toss the items up on the counter before the belt in no particular order and the baggers purposely shuffle items around to keep my fruits bagged together,my breads bagged with like items, cereal with other like items, etc. great customer service.
oh and i did my weekly run of groceries today.....77 items which totalled 118. and some change after coupons. can you image all that in self check out? no thanks.

Again, haven't you already returned to work?

boy I want some of your baggers -- the other day I came home to find LIza's muffin (a once weekly treat from the grocery bakerY) squished under two big glass bottles of sparkling lemonade... she had muffin crumbs for breakfast!
i'm so totally anal I have to put everything ont eh conveyor belt by type -- frozen, dairy, canned, dry goods, water, non grocery items, produce etc.... It's weird b/c in the rest of my life I'm completely haphazard!

<<Your DH is what, 14 years older?

Well then, I have no idea what is being read, it is certainly not anything I have written,

My father and my husband feel no guilt about anything, so empirically I'm having a hard time understanding what men in general you believe feel guilty about."
Its not suprising that you'd marry a man *like* your father -- it happens all the time, apparently.
But anyway, my DH feels guilt when he does something inappropriate, same/similarly to how I would. He feels guilty if he feels he's been unfair, for example.
And many many men I've interviewed feel guilty over not being around their family enough.
I think its positively *bizarre* that your DH feels no "guilt about anything." Really really odd, and strangely child like.
I have no idea what you are talking about. I mentioned that reality show -- you watch it if you are interested.
As for having to be home to oversee your subcontractors, no, that's not what most people do when they have a home renovation. They go to work if they work, or get out of the house if they don't. They might meet with their general contractor once a week or so, but they don't deal with the day-to-day stuff. If you did the same, then I don't understand how your home renovation interfered with your schedule, or why you even mentioned it when saying how little time you had to do other things. Or perhaps I misunderstood what you had done -- it had previously sounded as if you had done a major remodel, not just a couple of minor changes.
