Why does the media portray working moms, always, as having guilt?

Shoot....I guess neither my husband nor I have a job, since we have no mortage and could pay for the kids' extra-curriculars out of our non-earned income. The State of Missouri and the IRS, they think differently. Or do you not have to pay taxes on income from hobbies, interests, and money that won't be used to pay household expenses?

Sigh. Even after the recent decline in the market, my old townhouse is worth about $330,000 more than what I sold for.

No they dont. You will occasionally see them watching the same television program, but that is about it. My son is into baseball, football, and army stuff. My daughter is into SpongeBob and the Disney princesses.

Mine are both boys and two years apart and have never played together for extended periods of time. They play maybe one hour a day together if they are alone in the house together without other friends around. If they have a new computer game, it may extend some. I can push it some by playing board game with them.

They are so different.

If you use the money you earn to buy purses rather than groceries, it isn't really a job.

"You paid closing costs on a house you sold?"

Yes, I split the closing costs 50/50 with the buyer.

No, they do not get paid. That is the point here. When you own a business, you get paid once everyone and everything else has been paid. "Everything" in this case would often include plowing any cashflow into the business rather than taking a salary. It is, of course, done on the expectation that there will be a better pay-off down the road. Much as you invest time and effort into your house in the hope of turning a good profit when you sell.

I wondered about that phrase too. I'm glad you asked. I mean, what did WOHMs do before the advent of iVillage? Did they just not have standards? They must not have, after all WOH standards were created on boards like these.
